I'm working on my goal-setting skills this week. I think I set the bar too high for what I intended to accomplish this weekend. I was pretty productive and finished my grant report, but I had expected that I could finish revising one, maybe even two of my chapters also. How did I do?
Well, it turns out that I am not good at estimating how long it takes me to do things. Today, I broke down what I have left to do for Chapter 4 and it could easily take a few more days. I like to think I am being too optimistic about my ability to revise. But, it is probably just wishful thinking about wanting to finish that is making me set these unrealistic goals.
